The Alaskan Malamute club of Great Britain was formed in 1964. Although there were not that many malamutes in Britain at that time, a small group of enthusiast got together in an effort to promote this magnificent breed in a positive light.
The club publishes a quarterly newsletter and organises two Open Shows a year. It also holds breed seminars, fun days and the occasional working rally. The later is primarily concerned with fun and education as opposed to serious competition. The Open Shows are great fun and an ideal place to meet up with like minded people, breeders and, most importantly, Malamutes! Also, at the shows, the breed rescue usually has a stand, selling things to raise funds.
Joining the AMCUK is of vital importance in owning a Malamute, you are in touch with a group of people who will always be willing to help should you have any problems.
